The real story behind this was my parents arguing over turning off the kettle on the gas stove. Yes, we were still using a regular kettle over a gas stove - somehow my mum never wanted to get an electric kettle.

I got irritated and decided to look into budget options for filtered drinking water and an instant hot water dispenser. This combo has worked very well so far. Especially for cooking instant cup noodles in the middle of the night.
