My lights were flickering, and it was getting kind of irritating. Narrowed down all the possibilities, and I was very certain that it was caused by the no-neutral smart light switch I was using previously.
In short, typical smart switches require a full circuit in order to be able to stay powered, while being able to cut power from the light. Unfortunately, most homes in Singapore are decked out with light switches without a neutral wire. Once power is cut, neither the switch nor the light gets power. The only solution was to "shift" the switch to a location where there would be a neutral wire, namely within the light fixture itself.
